Value & Access Manager, Rare Diseases, Chiesi Nordic

For our client Chiesi Nordics we are now looking for a Nordic Value and Access Manager who will be focusing on Chiesi’s growing Rare Disease portfolio.

The Value & Access Manager function is a significant part of the Chiesi Nordic team, driving the business together with the V&A Director and Business Unit Director, and in close collaboration with regional market access, commercial, medical affairs, pharmaceutical affairs, finance including supply chain, and public affairs teams.

The role involves pricing strategy and pricing development and management, planning and execution of reimbursement submissions, identifying and suggesting access solutions at National and Regional level, value proposition development/adaptation, strategic and operative tender and contract management, access negotiations, and external and internal relationship building, etc.

The Value & Access Manager will collaborate closely with Chiesi colleagues, within the Nordic region as well as with the global pricing and access teams. You will also support the Nordic organisation with pricing and tender administration, analysis, and implementation. The role may also involve being part of different global task forces to support global pricing and market access initiatives and activities.

The Value & Access Manager will build and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders involved in decision-making related to access to Chiesi therapies.

Skills and competencies

  • Excellent understanding of the environment in which Chiesi operate:
    • Understanding of Nordic market access environment and how this impacts Chiesi’s local business, analysing both challenges and opportunities
    • Understanding of clinical, economical, and environmental data, and how this can be translated into value messages as well as being used in health-economic models and reimbursement applications, and in discussions with key access stakeholders
    • Understanding of pricing principles across a products life cycle and in a competitive setting
    • Understanding of how dedicated access initiatives, including collaboration, negotiation, and data generation, can support the Chiesi business
  • Self-starting and proactive, ability to assimilate and digest multiple, complex information:
    • Project management skills with ability to lead both internal and external projects
    • Strategic capabilities and strong business acumen

Requirements
Education:

  • MSc in Economics, Health Economics, Business, Medicine, Pharmacology, Science or similar

Languages:

  • Fluent in at least one Nordic language and English

Specific knowledge: 

  • In depth knowledge of at least one Nordic Country’s Health Care system and that country’s pricing, reimbursement, tender, and funding process and requirements
  • Understanding of Nordic Pricing and Reimbursement processes and requirements, tender processes, and pharmaceutical commercialization process and requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Previous experience:

  • 7-10 year from the Nordic pharmaceutical industry, or equivalent
  • Preferably previous Market Access experience, including interaction with Nordic access stakeholders (focus on payer, policy, and administrative decision makers)

The position may be based in any Nordic country, although requiring travelling to the Stockholm office on a regular basis.
