Head of Business Intelligence and Analytics Nordics and Baltics, Ipsen

On behalf of our client IPSEN, we are a now looking for a person to fill the new position as Head of Business Intelligence and Analytics for the Nordic and Baltic area.
 

This is a critical role accountable for the NOBA Business Intelligence & Analytics strategy and execution. The person will have direct responsibility to inform and advise on strategic issues by providing, analyzing, classifying, synthesizing and presenting the correct and appropriate sources of information (internal/external, primary/secondary) at national and sub-national levels. In addition to market research and competitive intelligence, this also includes the further development of the forecasting & reporting landscape (e.g. forecasting models, dashboards and tools).

 

1. Scope of responsibilities

Insights Generation

  • Lead the business intelligence and analytics function, setting the strategy and direction for insights driven and disease focused business intelligence gathering (HCP/Patient insights, Market research, Therapeutic Area trends).
  • Partner with medical (RWE studies, Medical/Clinical Insight database)

Forecasting & performance analytics

  • Patient-based Asset Forecasting Model:  Align models with the refined Patient Journeys and quantify patient-based business drivers. Address data weaknesses when it comes to patient counts and flows through the Journey
  • Performance Analytics:  Standardise and automate a single source of truth for sales performance across NoBa region by applying consistent market definitions and business rules. Provide a balanced mix between input and output KPIs.
  • Develop sub-national analytics

Support Business excellence, including SFE, account management

  • Support Business Excellence and Business Unit Heads/ Sales Managers in both sizing/deployment and Targeting & Segmentation process ensuring the right allocation of our resources
  • Monitor and drive sales execution KPIs (set and monitor KAM sales target as part of KAM incentive scheme)
  • Account Management Excellence framework:  support Business Units with the monitoring of set KPIs that are included in account plans.

2. Interaction & thought partnership with NoBa LT

  • Align with NoBa LT on the priorities
  • Identify with BU heads and Sales managers development opportunities
  • Communicate clear implementation plans with LT before deployment to the teams
  • Act as a top partner to the Business Unis head to define jointly an insight generation plan for each brand

3. Team management

  • Manage the local team that includes two BI Analysts
  • Ensure smooth operations by planning and setting goals for the team
  • Align priorities with both Global SBE and local Leadership teams, and resolve issues and roadblocks for the team
  • Develop the individual competencies by providing knowledge and training
Education / Certifications / Experience:

  • Scientific or Business Degree e.g. Life sciences degree or similar.
  • Min. 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry with proven experience in Business Intelligence
  • Good understanding of the healthcare environment, pharmaceutical marketplace
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze and make sound commercial decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of and deployment experience in Incidence based forecasting and Insight Generation projects (market research, etc.)
  • Experience working in and across countries, preferably Nordics.
  • Proven skills to collaborate and influence senior leaders.
  • Specialty care (ideally oncology/Neuroscience and rare disease) experience.

Languages:

  • English fluency – written & spoken
  • Other languages beneficial especially Scandinavian

The position requires willingness to travel and the abilitiy to work outside normal working hours.
